The Formation of our children in the Faith
Formation in the Faith is a vital part in the life of our children. Their formation and growth must be the first and most important part in their daily lives so they may grow in a Catholic Christian environment.
Our classes are on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays in a Christian environment for their growth in our Catholic Faith. Their growth must be constant from as early as 5 years old. All children must be in some Religious Education program in his/her parish community. Children should be actively participating in retreats according to their formation grade, the same is for their parents through enrichment Retreats.
Through their formation our children prepare to receive their Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Communion. After receiving their Sacraments they must continue in their formation. Such formation must be ongoing and must promote the growth of our children and the community to a more mature Faith.
The core of our catechists is our communion with Christ. At the heart of catechists we find, in essence, a Person of Jesus of Nazareth, “the only Son from the Father…full of grace and truth” (John 1:14) who suffered and died for us and who now, after rising, is living with us forever. It is Jesus who is “the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6) and Christian living consists in following Christ. Saint Paul said: “because for me, life is Christ” Jesus Christ is always our first and last reference point in our teachings.
The best and biggest gift we can give our children is the Person of Jesus through Religious Education.
