#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration.

What is #GivingTuesday?  #GivingTuesday is a worldwide day dedicated to giving back and celebrating generosity. Built on the gratitude felt during the Thanksgiving holiday and following the consumer-centered events of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday takes place on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving.

Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving.

One of the best ways to get involved is in your own community. We’ve created a directory to help you find organizations, charities, events and more in your own community.

This November 27th, join the movement and give – whether it’s some of your time, a donation, gift or the power of your voice in your local community.

#GivingTuesday is a global giving movement that has been built by individuals, families, organizations, businesses and communities in countries around the world. Millions of people have come together to support and champion the causes they believe in and the communities in which they live.

#GivingTuesday is the opening day of the giving season.

Celebrate Generosity:  We have a day for giving thanks. We have two for getting deals. Now, we have #GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to giving back. On #GivingTuesday, charities, families, businesses, community centers, churches and students around the world will come together for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity and to give.

Who Participates in #Giving Tuesday?  #GivingTuesday brings together the collective power of a unique blend of partners— nonprofits, civic organizations, businesses and corporations, as well as families and individuals—to encourage and amplify small acts of kindness— little gestures of love which Pope Francis encourages.

How Do I Become Part of the #Giving Tuesday Celebration?  It’s a simple idea. Join us and be a part of a global celebration of a new tradition of generosity.  #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many think about end-of-year giving.  On #GivingTuesday we are asking the entire Saint Patrick Catholic Church & School community to support the parish or the school or both!

Make #GivingTuesday Part of Your Year-End Charitable Giving:  It is never to early to start thinking about year-end charitable giving.

Give on #GivingTuesday:  Your generous gifts help Saint Patrick Catholic Church fulfill the mission of the Church— to continue the works of Jesus Christ such as preaching, teaching, healing, and acts of charity and justice. Your gift to Saint Patrick Catholic School helps student achieve excellence in academics, faith and service.

How do I Share the #Giving Tuesday Message with Others?  #GivingTuesday harnesses the potential of social media and the generosity of people around the world to bring about real change in their communities; providing a platform to encourage the donation of time, treasure and talents to address local needs.

Just Remember:

 Every act of generosity counts, and each means even more when we give together. #GivingTuesday includes people of all ethnicities, religions and backgrounds.
 Everyone has something to give. You can give time or expertise, monetary donations large or small, simple acts of kindness, food or clothing.

#GivingTuesday is so much more than one day in November. Pledge to do more the following year. For instance, you can give a certain amount every month to a charity, pledge to volunteer every month or launch a payroll giving program to continue to give back.
